D1: Meet flight in Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan province.Chengdu is located near sea level, so we will face no acclimatization problems here. After dinner we will together study maps and check our equipment.
D2: Mostly spent travelling to Rilong. The road journey is at times impressive in its own right featuring a couple of high passes and some impressive scenary. We'll spend the night in a guesthouse in Qiang/Tibetan town of Rilong.
D3-D5: Chang Ping valley to Bi Peng valley.
The first day of hiking will be a easy day, almost flat way. We will pass some impressive peaks (many unclimbed and some even unnamed) and will be camping in pretty remote conditions. The farther we hike up the Chang ping valley ,the wild landscape becomes. We will continue our hiking to the valley’s end. As we near the second day’s camp, the stupendous rock walls of Siguniang’s north face will gradually emerge. We will have a hard day in the third day hiking .we have to climb up the highest pass in this trip with 4600 meters above sea level, but when we stand on the summit of the high pass the whole Changping valley will totally be seen. After a short break we will hike down to the hill to the other side of the mountain, camping in the Bipeng valley . We can expect no steep climbing on our route and no technical features. We expect to walk around 50-60km in total .
D6 The last hiking day in the valley, we will slowly making our way out to the reception. After lunch, we will take the bus return to Chengdu. On the way back, you can visit the Ganbao Tibetan village and Taoping Qiang village.
