Longmen Dong is a large conglomerate cave in Lushan County near Ya'an. Around 3km have been developed for tourism although there are 10km+ beyond which are undeveloped. Dragon Expeditions offers a variety of caving trips in the cave and with advance notice the showcave itself can also organise some introductory trips away from the tourist path.

Transport

From Lushan a number of busses pass the turn off to the cave at the bottom of the hill at XXXX. From here it is an hour's walk up a small road to the cave entrance or it is usually possible to find a motorbike to take you up the hill. A taxi from Lushan is also possible. The road to the cave is in good condition. There is a car park a short distance from the cave.

Food

There is a good local restaurant on the turn off to the cave or there are others just over the bridge.

Accomodation

With advance permission it is possible to camp inside the cave, most people stay in Lushan town. There's probably also places to stay at the bottom of the hill.

Facilities

The showcave has a small shop selling water and snacks. There is a teahouse at which food is also sometimes available.
