Eben and Lingdang have just had 4 days away ice climbing in Suan Chao Gou, Si Gong Yang. Blue sky every day and lots of ice :-) We stayed in a locally run hostel and were looked after very well with excellent Chinese food morning and night. More than we could eat; even after a full day climbing? We had a day traveling there from Chengdu and looking at the mountain scenery. A day single pitch ice climbing on very hard water fall ice. A day climbing multi pitch up a frozen gorge with fantastically formed ice and interesting rope work on decent. 

On our last night we had a bit of a party, a sheep was killed and spit roasted. It was very good but everyone was so eager to eat it some of it was not really cooked properly! Not to worry though as it was washed down with plenty of local rice wine and good cheer!
