Apple, owner and manager of Dragon Expeditions, is as passionate as all of her staff about the outdoors and finds as many excuses as possible to get herself out of the office. She has been organising trips around Sichuan since graduating from University (with a degree in English Langauge), and founded Dragon Expeditions in May 2007. Apple has tried just about every outdoor sport going, but holds particular interests in ice climbing and mountaineering. She has taken part in a number of international caving and climbing expeditions and holds a high altitude climbing guide certificate.

Chuan Chuan our newest and youngest member of staff has been taking part in outdoor sports since he was 15. Another English language major with a passion for the mountains, he has a great technical knowledge and experience of mountaineering and ice climbing as well as experience in trekking and cycling. He hopes to make a career from mountain guiding and has already lead several teams to peaks over 5000m as well as two successful solo ascents of Luotuo Feng (Camel Peak) and Ban Ji.

Ling Dang is our head guide and has taken teams to the summits of several high mountains, as well as leading countless treks around Sichuan. She is an expert on Sichuan logistics and excels at managing expedition base camps. Ling Dang holds a high altitude mountain guide certificate and an advanced first aid certificate. She is also an excellent camp cook.

Matt is an Executive Officer of Dragon Expeditions and provides technical advice to the company as well as guiding some of the trips. Born in Britain but now living in China he has a vast range of experience in outdoor sports with a passion for cave exploration in particular. British born, Matt now lives in China and speaks reasonable Chinese. He has a vast range of outdoor sports experience and a passion for cave exploration. He has taken part in many Hongmeigui CES expeditions to China exploring and mapping many of China’s deepest and longest caves.

Roland is the owner of Western Sichuan Tours. Born in Germany Roland has lived in China for over ten years and speaks fluent Chinese as well as English and German. Roland has a passion for bird watching and has a phenomenal knowledge of Western Sichuan. Western Sichuan Tours are a close associate of Dragon Expeditions with partnerships both in marketing and operations.
