Trekking
Four sisters---Chang Ping valley to Bipeng valley
Mount Four Girls is located between County Xiao Jin and County Wen Chuan, made up of the four peaks what are adjoined together. According to the local Tibeten legend, The four peaks are four beautiful girls.
Haizi Gou (Siguniang Shan)
A short trekking trip to the scenic Haizi Gou in Siguniang region, ideal for those in Chengdu who want to try some easy trekking on a long weekend. Although in a Tibetan area, this region is still open for foreign groups. If you're interested in this trek but are an individual or a small group then let us know and we may be able to find others locally who would be interested in coming along.
Mt Genyen
Mt. Genyen is an isolated mountain massif surrounded by the vast grassland of Litang – the heart of Kham, one of the three “Tibetan Cultural Provinces”. With 6204m (main peak) it is the third highest mountain range in Sichuan. Mt. Genyen plays an important role in Tibetan Buddhism. The monks of the Rangu Monastery at its bottom are severe protectors of its divinity. However, there have been several ascents of this summit – some of them clandestinely. Accessibility from Chengdu is not easy; one reason why this beautiful spot has not seen many tourists.
Mt. Minya Konka Trek
Gongga is more or less impossible to climb (more people have died trying than have succeeded!), the area itself makes a good trekking destination and there are plenty of surrounding peaks for the more adventurous.
Pilgrimage Trek around Sacred Mt.Kailash & Holy Lake Mansarovar
A great mass of black rock soaring over 22,000 feet, Mt. Kailash (6741 m)- the most sacred mountain in the Tibetan Buddhist world is considered to be the centre of the universe. Uncannily symmetrical, this remote and remarkable peak is located in the far west of Tibet. Mt. Kailash has arguably, the unique distinction of being the world's most venerated holy mountain while at the same time being the least visited. Being the sacred mountain of four different religions and over one billion people. Kailash is seen by no more than several thousand pilgrims every year.
Wulong Karst
Wulong County in Chongqing Municipality is a limestone karst area of China
which has recently been granted UNESCO World Heritage protected status. It is
geographically remote and as recently as five years ago there were no good rail
or road links to the county which was rarely visited by outsiders.
Yala (Zhara) trekking
A day's drive from Chengdu gives a relatively straight forward 3 - 5 day trek amongst snowy mountains, holy peaks and beautiful lakes on a route that takes us roughly from Kangding to Danba.
Mountaineering
Hunter Peak
This peak is part of the Qionglai range, in the Siguniangshan (Four Girl Mountains) region. It is accessed from Shuangqiao Gou
It is covered with a snow cap all year round, although much of the ascent looks to be on rock.
Mt. Siguniang Da Feng (1st peak)
Da Feng is the first of a group of 4 mountains known locally as the 4 sisters. It stands at 5025 Meters above sea level and is achievable for most fit aspirant mountaineers on a 4 to 6 day trip.
Mt. Siguniang Da Feng (1st peak) & Er Feng (2nd peak)
1st Peak 5025m (Dafeng) is a popular training peak and it sees many successful assents every year. 2nd Peak 5276m (Erfeng) is more challenging and requires basic climbing equipment. The snow line is quite high and the approach takes you through beautiful vegetation, snow caped mountains and lush green valleys. This diverse habitat has given Siguniang the nickname of "the Eastern Alps".
Mt. Siguniang ErFeng (2nd peak)
ErFeng (5276m), also known as Erguniang is more challenging than DaFeng in the Siguniang mountains as it involves basic climbing techniques. Dragon Expeditions and our guides have a wealth of experience in guiding this relatively straightforward peak.
West Peak of Luotuo Feng (Camel Peak)
Luotuo Feng (5484m) serves as a good introduction to more technical mountaineering, suitable for those who have climbed a trekking peak or two and are looking to move up to something a little more challenging.
